A few kilometers from Lecce, in the village of San Cesario, we offer for sale a farmhouse to renovate from the 1800s of about 160 square meters, on a surrounding land of 3 hectares. The farm is spread over two levels. On the ground floor there are two rooms with vaulted ceilings, one of which has a fireplace while the other, once used as a cellar, has a large millstone which was used to press the grapes, and two other rooms which were used as stables for animals and whose roof needs to be restored. On the first floor there are two other rooms, with flat roofs, which can be accessed both from the outside and inside. A garden of about 1000 square meters with avenues and columns, enclosed with a Lecce stone wall, develops behind the house. The surrounding land is partly arable land and partly vineyard, and there are two artesian wells.
San Cesario is a small town in the immediate vicinity of Lecce, located in the so-called “Valle della Cupa”, that is, in an area around the capital which is characterized by a karst depression. Both the Adriatic and Ionian seas are about 20 km away. The origins date back to the Bronze Age, as evidenced by ancient Menhirs.
